As per media sources, Amazon India intends to let go of over 1000 employees—or 1% of the whole workforce—in the upcoming weeks. It follows Amazon Global’s announcement to terminate roughly 18000 employees globally a day earlier.
The layoff was announced by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who also stated that the previously reported yearly planning process was still ongoing. I anticipated there will be more role cutbacks in early 2023, the man continued.

“Normally, we hold off on discussing these results until we can get in touch with the folks who will be directly impacted.
