His specialization in Navigation and Direction has seen him command several major vessels, including the Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel Samar and the Offshore Patrol Vessel Vishwast.Throughout his career, Paramesh has held significant positions that include:

  • Deputy Director General of Operations and Coastal Security
  • Principal Director of Operationsat Coast Guard Headquarters in New Delhi
  • Chief Staff Officer of Operationsat the Coast Guard Regional Headquarters in Chennai

He has also led both the Eastern and Western Coast Guard Regions and served as Commander of the Eastern Seaboard from July 2018 to August 2023.
