His interactions took place primarily at KU Leuven University in Belgium, where he addressed students and faculty about India’s transformative journey over the past decade. In a lively session, Goyal highlighted India’s economic advancements driven by structural reforms and innovation.

He encouraged students to actively participate in what he termed “Amrit Kaal,” a 25-year period leading up to the centenary of India’s independence, urging them to contribute to the nation’s progress.

The discussions encompassed various topics, including India’s trade agreements, economic growth trajectory, and efforts to enhance the ease of doing business. The minister’s visit comes at a time when India is actively seeking to strengthen its global ties, particularly with European nations. Discussions during his trip also included ongoing negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the EU, which have faced challenges but remain a priority for enhancing bilateral trade relations.

Goyal’s interactions underscore the importance of engaging with the Indian community abroad, as they are seen as pivotal in shaping perceptions about India on the global stage. By fostering these connections, Goyal aims to encourage greater collaboration between the Indian government and its diaspora, ultimately contributing to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” or Developed India.
