The Panchmukhi Doli, the sacred idol of Lord Kedarnath, has embarked on its spiritual journey as part of the Char Dham Yatra.

 

The Doli departed from the Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath on May 6th, amidst a grand send-off with chanting, flowers, and an Army band.  It is making its way to Kedarnath Dham, with scheduled stops at Guptkashi, Phata, and Gaurikund along the route.

 

On May 7th, the Panchmukhi Doli departed from Guptkashi for its second halt at Phata. The journey is being facilitated by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, with support from the Uttarakhand government, including the deployment of 300 volunteers to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees.

 

The Panchmukhi Doli holds significant religious importance in the Char Dham Yatra, particularly in the context of the revered shrine of Kedarnath.

 

This sacred idol of Lord Kedarnath is carried in the Panchmukhi Doli, symbolizing the journey of devotees to seek the blessings of Lord Kedarnath during the pilgrimage. The Doli’s departure from Ukhimath marks the commencement of this spiritual journey towards Kedarnath Dham, with scheduled stops at key locations like Guptkashi, Phata, and Gaurikund along the way. The opening of the Kedarnath Temple is scheduled for May 10th, and the Panchmukhi Doli is expected to reach the Kedarnath Dham on the evening of May 9th.

 

 Devotees are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the sacred idol and the opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Kedarnath.The Panchmukhi Doli’s journey is a central part of the Char Dham Yatra, signifying the devotion and reverence of pilgrims towards Lord Kedarnath and the spiritual significance of visiting the Char Dhams – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
