“Today Lalu Yadav, for the sake of power politics, to make his son the Chief Minister has gone and sat in the lap of the Congress party, which has spent its entire life opposing the backward and extremely backward classes,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah said while campaigning in Sitamarhi, Bihar, on Thursday. Prasad, the former chief minister of Bihar, was heavily criticized by Shah for preferring to “sit on the lap of” the Congress party instead of promoting his son Tejashwi Yadav.

Shah attacked Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Pravin Kumar for not bestowing the Bharat Ratna to former Bihar president Minister Karpoori Thakur, claiming that Yadav is merely preoccupied with his children’s political futures. “PM Modi gave Karpoori Thakur the Bharat Ratna recently. In the twenty-five years that Lalu Prasad was the head of state and the federal government, I would like to know if he remembers awarding Karpoori Thakur the Bharat Ratna. You will forget that. You’ve solely considered your girls and son,” Shah remarked. The BJP is not afraid of the Opposition’s voting base, according to Shah, but they were afraid that the Opposition would not show up for the Pran Pratishtha event at Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir.

“Lalu Prasad, his son Kharge, and Rahul baba were invited at Pran Pratishtha, but nobody showed up. They are afraid of their base of support. The top BJP leader declared, “We, the Bharatiya Janata Party, do not get scared of ‘vote bank’.”
Shah also criticised Congress for long-term delays in releasing reports from the Backward Commission.

“Kaka Kalelkar published the first report in 1955 advocating for reservations for the backward and extremely backward classes. Congress was in power during the period. The father of Rahul’s grandmother was a powerful man once. For years, the report was withheld, and reservations were denied to classes that were severely behind. Next was the report of the Mandal commission. The report was withheld by Rahul’s grandmother, according to the Union Home Minister.
In addition, Shah pledged to construct a stately memorial at Ma Sita’s birthplace, claiming that only the BJP government could create the perfect temple.

“In Ayodhya, PM Modi constructed the Ram Lalla temple. That work has been finished. The Union Home Minister stated that the construction of a magnificent memorial near Ma Sita’s birthplace was now the only task left to complete. “This is not possible for those who avoided the Ram Lalla shrine. It would take Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party to erect a memorial as perfect as Ma Sita, who is revered for her selflessness and penance. We are going to build a temple of such magnificence that it would bring Sitamarhi to the attention of the world,” he continued.
