With 92 runs off 47 balls, the 35-year-old right-handed hitter led the Bengaluru team in scoring. In the crucial encounter, Kohli struck seven fours and six sixes during his 18-over stay at the crease, which Arshdeep Singh ended in the 18th over. This enabled his team to score 241 runs for seven wickets.
Kohli also reached the 600-run milestone in the current IPL 2024 season by scoring 92 runs against PBKS in match No. 58. This achievement tied the global record held by top Indian batter KL Rahul for the most IPL seasons with over 600 runs. In contrast to Kohli, who scored 634 runs in 2013, 973 runs in 2016, 639 runs in 2023, and 634 runs in 12 IPL 2024 matches thus far, Rahul, 31, has compiled a total of 659 runs in 2018, 670 in 2020, 626 in 2021, and 616 runs in 2022.
Faf du Plessis reached the 600-run milestone in two IPL seasons, while former West Indies captain Chris Gayle and standout Australian batsman David Warner each hit more than 600 runs in three IPL seasons.
In the IPL 2024, Kohli is topping the Orange Cap standings with 93 runs more than Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is in second position.
Kohli broke the previous record and became the first hitter in history to reach 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against three different clubs with his 92-run innings on Thursday.
