After being granted temporary parole by the Supreme Court until June 1, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal left Tihar Jail. Along with his daughter Harshita, wife Sunita Kejriwal, and senior AAP leaders Bhagwant Mann, Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and Sandeep Pathak, Kejriwal departed the jail premises.
Kejriwal then spoke to AAP members and workers while standing through a car’s sunroof while chants of “Jail Ke Tale Toot Gaye, Kejriwalji Chhoot Gaye” were being chanted. The Delhi Chief Minister began by chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Inquilab Zindabad.” He also thanked the people for their support and thanked the Supreme Court judges for granting him bail.
It’s nice to be here with all of you. I made a commitment to return soon, and here I am.I have a request: we must prevent dictatorship from taking over the nation. “I am fighting against it with all of my might, but in order to defeat it, 140 crore people in this country must unite,” he declared.
The chief minister of Delhi announced that he will pay his respects to the god at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place on Saturday at 11:00 am. He will thereafter give a press conference at the party headquarters at 1:00 pm.
KEJRIWAL IS HELD HOME WITH A TRADITIONAL WELCOME
The Delhi CM was greeted with garlands by his parents when he arrived home later that evening. His mother does the customary “aarti” to greet him when he enters the home.
Around 8:20 p.m., the chief minister left the jail complex and arrived at his home in the Civil Lines neighborhood.
FESTIVAL DAYS AT THE AAP DEPARTMENT
At the AAP office, slogans like “Modi ji ja rahe hain, Kejriwal ji aa rahe hain,” “Jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal ji chhoot gaye,” and “Dekho dekho kon aaya, sher aaya sher aaya” are all over the air.
Even if it is only temporary, Kejriwal’s release from prison is anticipated to help the AAP’s Lok Sabha campaign in Delhi, where elections are set for May 25, when the party’s leading candidate hits the hustings.
THE FIRST ROADSHOW FOR KEJRIWAL TONIGHT
Kejriwal and his Punjabi counterpart Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to take part in a roadshow in South Delhi on May 11. Kejriwal’s first tour since leaving Tihar Jail on Friday will be this one.
Sahi Ram Pahalwan, a candidate for the South Delhi parliamentary seat, has been nominated by the AAP. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress have agreed to share seats, with the AAP running for four Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and the Congress fielding candidates for three of them.
Opposition leaders also welcomed the interim bail given to the AAP leader by the Supreme Court, saying the “fight to save democracy” will now be with more intensity.
Congress leader Pawan Khera hoped former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren also get due justice.
The opposition leaders expressed their gratitude to the Supreme Court for granting the AAP leader interim bail, stating that the “fight to save democracy” will now be waged with greater vigor.
Former chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren should also receive appropriate justice, according to Congress politician Pawan Khera.
THE BJP’S ANSWER
Virendra Sachdeva, the head of the Delhi BJP, stated that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s receipt of interim bail does not imply that he is innocent of the alleged multi-crore liquor scandal.
While the BJP accepts the ruling of the supreme court, AAP leaders, according to Sachdeva, are deceiving and abandoning the people of Delhi once more.
He stated, “It does not prove that Kejriwal, who was the main culprit in the multi-crore liquor scam, is innocent today. Sometimes even criminals are released on parole, and this is a legal process.”
SC’S PERMANENT DEBT TO KEJRIWAL
The Supreme Court on Friday granted the AAP national convenor temporary bail for 21 days to help him campaign in the ongoing Lok Sabha election, which came as a huge relief. On June 2, Kejriwal—arrested in the money laundering case related to the purported Delhi excise policy scam—must turn himself up and return to custody, according to a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta.
The final day of the seven-phase Lok Sabha election is June 1. June 4 is the date of the vote count.
The Supreme Court stated that granting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal interim bail would not amount to giving politicians a special status or privilege, noting that the AAP leader has no criminal history.
