In early 2025, Hyderabad has seen multiple fire incidents at commercial complexes.
Shaikpet Fire (January 17, 2025):
- A fire erupted at the Dukes building in Shaikpet around 5 a.m..
- The fire started on the second floor of the building and spread to the top floor, affecting a medical center and a coaching center. The second and third floors sustained the most damage.
- Firefighters from Langer Houz, Jubilee Hills, and Madhapur fire stations responded to the scene.
- Three people who were trapped in the building were rescued by firemen.
- Five fire tenders were deployed, and it took approximately three hours to control the blaze.
- The building’s thick glass façade was broken by firemen to allow smoke to exit.
Madina and Abbas Towers Fire (February 10, 2025):
- A fire broke out at one of the shops in Madina and Abbas Wholesale Towers at Madina in the early hours of the morning. The building is located at Devan Devdi.
- The fire broke out on the fourth floor and spread to adjacent shops.
- Around 30 shops were affected by the blaze, resulting in significant property damage.
- No casualties were reported.
- The fire broke out in a cloth shop in Madina & Abbas Towers Wholesale Market.
