Chinni Krishna, a prominent Telugu film writer, has publicly defended actor Allu Arjun following his recent arrest in connection with a tragic incident at the premiere of his film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. Krishna labeled the arrest as a “fabricated” case orchestrated by government and police authorities. This statement comes in the wake of a stampede that occurred during the film’s screening on December 4, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to her son, which has sparked significant controversy and debate within the industry and among fans.

Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, alongside other related offenses. His arrest was met with widespread backlash from fans and industry colleagues, who have rallied in support of the actor. Chinni Krishna’s remarks add to this chorus of support, emphasizing that the circumstances surrounding Arjun’s arrest were unjust and politically motivated. He stated, “This is a case fabricated by the government and police,” reflecting a sentiment shared by many who believe that the actor is being unfairly targeted due to his celebrity status.

The incident at Sandhya Theatre involved a large crowd that had gathered to see Allu Arjun, leading to chaos as fans surged towards the entrance. The police reported that there were no adequate security measures in place by the theatre management, which contributed to the unfortunate events. In response to the tragedy, Allu Arjun expressed deep sorrow and offered financial assistance of ₹25 lakh to the deceased woman’s family while emphasizing that he was not responsible for the incident.

The arrest has ignited a political debate, with various leaders commenting on the handling of the situation. Some politicians criticized how Allu Arjun was treated during his arrest, while others maintained that legal accountability must be upheld regardless of an individual’s fame. Notably, even the husband of the deceased expressed his willingness to withdraw charges against Allu Arjun, stating that he did not blame the actor for the tragic occurrence.

Following an 18-hour ordeal in custody, Allu Arjun was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 13. Upon his release, he reiterated his commitment to cooperate with authorities and extended condolences to the victim’s family. The case continues to unfold as discussions about celebrity accountability in public safety incidents remain at the forefront of public discourse.
