Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release a Rs 2,500 crore revolving fund aimed at benefiting 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs). This initiative will be part of an event where he will also award certificates to 11 lakh new members, referred to as “Lakhpati Didis,” in Jalgaon, Maharashtra.

The fund is designed to enhance the financial empowerment of women involved in these groups, facilitating their access to credit and resources for entrepreneurship and self-sustenance. Additionally, Modi will disburse Rs 5,000 crore in bank loans to support 25.8 lakh members across 2.35 lakh SHGs.

Lakhpati Didi Sammelan

The Prime Minister will begin his day in Jalgaon by attending the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan at around 11:15 AM. During this event, he will interact with “Lakhpati Didis” – a term used for women self-help group members who earn an annual household income of Rs 1 lakh or more.

Modi will disseminate testaments to 11 lakh ladies who have reached “Lakhpati Didi” status during the third term of the NDA government Since the inception of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, one crore women have already been empowered, with a target to reach three crore in the next three years.

The revolving fund of Rs 2,500 crore will benefit around 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh SHGs across the country. Additionally, the Prime Minister will disburse bank loans worth Rs 5,000 crore, which will support 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh SHGs.
